« Braneworld cosmology: from particle physics to baryogenesis  »

Michael Sarrazin
Obs. des Sciences de l'Univers de Besançon (Besançon, France)

The braneworld concept has emerged from the attempts to build a theory that unifies gravity with the other fundamental forces of nature. In general, this concept has led to cosmological models that try to interpret the origins of dark matter or dark energy, as well as the mechanisms behind the Big Bang. After a brief review of those approaches, I will show how the braneworld hypothesis can also be tested from both a particle physics perspective at the laboratory scale and from a cosmological standpoint as a potential portal for baryogenesis. Both theoretical and current experimental aspects will be presented.
